Wall paint on a ceiling is a mistake. Ceilings need paint that levels flat with minimal splatter, hides trowel marks, and stays bright white without yellowing. Premium ceiling paints — Sherwin-Williams ProMar Ceiling, Benjamin Moore Waterborne Ceiling Paint — are formulated for exactly that.

We use flat sheen almost universally on ceilings. Glossier sheens amplify every surface imperfection under sidelight. The exception: bathroom and kitchen ceilings, where a scrubbable eggshell can be worth the trade-off in humid, high-splatter environments.

Not every ceiling has to be brilliant white. Popular Green Bay looks include warm off-whites (Alabaster, White Dove) that blend with warm-toned walls, one-shade-lighter wall colors that make ceilings feel infinite, and dramatic dark ceilings in dens, powder rooms, and bedrooms.

For homes with tongue-and-groove pine ceilings, we clean, prime, and refinish with either clear-coat protection or opaque paint. For metal or drop ceilings in finished basements, we can spray-refinish in a color of your choice for a full modern look.

Every ceiling painting job begins with proper prep: cover floors and furniture, wipe or vacuum dust and cobwebs, and spot-prime any stains with stain-blocking primer. We tape wall lines and light fixtures, cut in with sash brushes, then roll with 3/8" nap microfiber for the smoothest lay-down.

Two full coats is our standard — one coat rarely gives even coverage on white-over-white. We roll perpendicular directions between coats to eliminate any roller-line pattern. Final walkthrough with strong sidelight to catch any missed spots.
